My Irises have bloomed out until next year. I will paint other flowers in my garden that joins my  studio. All of these Irises were painted from life not using photography.

The perfect creative gift…  She brought me a 4x6 old yellowed newspaper clipping her husband had saved for years. The article was a photo of her husband’s grandfather’s mill.  Last month Selena Bragg commissioned me to paint her husband a father’s day. This surprise gift is something the family will treasure for generations.

Mayor Wissman’s portrait began with “Arlington for the Arts” (AFTA) art show.  Our mayor graciously sat as a model for me while I demonstrated at this fun art event. This portrait was presented at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Happy Mother's Day

This painting came from the pink rose bush outside my studio, my son and his wife gave it to me last year for Mother's Day. This year the little rose bush had so many beautiful roses, one gorgeous morning I sat my easel outside near the bush than begin to paint. There is a special peace when painting outside. It is a calmness that is hard to describe.

I create life on canvas. I work with individuals to capture paintings their

family will treasure for generations.

I am a thinker, a dreamer and an artist.

I am an instructor, an author, a wife, a mother and a grandmother.

I am a lover of ART, people, color, photography, family, yoga and all things God created.

This is my studio. After getting my morning coffee I go into my studio, it’s my time to think, meditate and stretch.

My goal with this blog is to share my knowledge, my art, my process and my life with you. 

Irises season is over but long live the small daily paintings

The Irises didn't stay long. Until I started painting these Iris I never noticed how short the life span of this delicate flower. Each day I went into my studio beginning work I would stop and pick an Iris.
